Neutrogena Deep Clean Foaming Cleanser Review

When I first heard about a cleanser that can remove 99% of micro-pollutants, I honestly was like 'what, really?' Now you guys all know when it comes to pollutants (especially in the hazy weather that has been happening over the last few weeks) it has been really difficult to control its exposure to the skin. SPF could only do so much, but when the skin cells are exposed to these pollutant claims, the changes in it can be quite rampant; whether it is in terms to its oxidative stress, sebum secretion rate, inflammation, collagen and even elastin levels.

Now these are major concerns, so to go hand in hand with a good SPF, a good skincare routine needs to be observed. Hence the first step to any skincare routine is the cleanser and now you would see why this would be vital, especially in hazy weather conditions.

A Closer Look Into Neutrogena's Deep Clean Foaming Cleanser

So let's talk about Neutrogena's Deep Foaming Cleanser. In its description it states to be a refreshing facial cleanser that thoroughly removes dirt, oil and dead skin cells while providing long-lasting oil control to improve the look and feel of the skin. To be honest, for someone who has dry skin, this to me was not exactly an attractive point. Yes I did like the fact that it removes dirt, oil and dead skin cells, but oil control- not so much.

If you ever had the experience with a foaming cleanser on dry skin, you would know what I am talking about because while foam cleansers do take away any form of oil and dirt, it also does strip away your natural moisture as well (hence that squeaky clean feel).

However there are some foam cleansers out there in the market that do deliver a good balance of hydration to the skin while it cleanses, so with that in mind, giving a go on the Neutrogena Deep Clean Foaming Cleanser for a good 2 weeks, here are my thoughts.

Breakdown of the Product, Results and Thoughts

First off, let's talk about packaging and texture. Contained in a tube of 100g, the Neutrogena Deep Clean Foaming Cleanser comes in a tube with a hardy cap. Quality is pretty good and sleek, plus it is travel friendly which of course is appreciated. Texture wise when dispensed is creamy and thick which means a little goes a long way (this is specifically for dry skin) and as for its scent, it does have a mild fragrance to it which is not too overpowering but just nice.

As for its effectiveness, it lathers well and its creamy texture does build up quite nicely. It gently and effectively cleanses the skin but of its usage of more or less product would depend on your skin condition. Now I did use this in a coin size amount that you see above, and with this cleanser it made the face clean but not too overly squeaky clean which was good. I did notice the immediate radiance and brightness of the skin which was really nice but certain parts of the skin did feel a bit dry, which to be honest I did expect since it was a foam cleanser.

Nonetheless, you can always hydrate the condition back with a good toner and moisturiser so there is not much of an issue there but I would say suitability wise, this would go better towards those who have oily skin.

In the meantime, the Neutrogena Deep Clean Foaming Cleanser is available at RM19.90 at 100g at leading pharmacies nationwide. You can also find it online via Johnson & Johnson Official stores on both Lazada and Shopee as well. However for more info, you can also visit Neutrogena's Official Website and Facebook Page too.
