Melano CC Vitamin C Brightening Gel | Does It Work?

Now I have been on the hunt for a good Vitamin C moisturiser and when I came across this one from Melano, I was a little hesitant, partly because its consistency was a gel; and from my experiences from the past with gel moisturisers, they do tend to leave my skin with oil seeds which I do not like.

However with this one, I decided to implement it carefully into my night-care routine and as such, see how it fared together with the other products for the overall results. Hence with that, it is now in its Week 3 of use, so let's do the breakdown on how it did.

How I Implemented It Into My Routine and Did I Like It?

So first off, what you need to know about the new Melano CC Vitamin C Brightening Gel is that it is a moisturiser that helps to lighten dark spots, reduce redness and soothe the skin. It is formulated with Vitamin C and Fruit extracts to revive dullness and even out the complexion while keeping the skin well hydrated.
Melano CC Vitamin C Brightening Gel Extracts:

  • Alpinia Seed Extract: A ginger extract that helps brighten and even out skin tone.
  • Cornus Officinalis (Japanese Cornel) Fruit Extract: Deeply hydrates and soothes skin.
  • Lemon Extract: Helps hydrates skin for a significantly soft, smooth and supple skin.
  • Citrus: Adds fragrance to the moisturizer.
Plus seeing as that the product was targeted more for radiance and brightening, I decided to implement it into my daily skincare routine during the night. Application was kept light and it was either used after my toner or my serum. For this, I would usually switch it up every 2 days or so.

Now after 3 weeks of use, what I really like about this product is that it was gentle enough to be effective, for it does live up to the claims of it providing radiance to the face. Plus not only that, but any form of redness that I use to have on the face has also significantly reduced because of the implementation of this product too which has left me pleasantly surprised.

Also for those of you who are worried on if there is a fragrance or if the Melano CC Vitamin C Brightening Gel would be suitable for sensitive skin, fret not because while the scent on this is quite lemon-like, it is light and doesn't linger for long. The gel also has a very lightweight consistency that doesn't leave behind a sticky residue too so you wouldn't have to worry about it being too heavy upon application. A little does go a long way though, so in terms of this, use the product sparingly and it would be able to last you for at least a year as well.

So on overall, the product did well for me and I would definitely go for a repurchase on it. Additionally, in terms to where you can locate it, you can find the Melano CC Vitamin C Brightening Gel available exclusively in Watsons (in stores as well as online) retailing at RM70 for 100g.
