Technogym Marks 40th Anniversary with Global Artistic Collaboration

Technogym, a global leader in fitness and wellness solutions, marks a significant milestone as it celebrates 40 years of groundbreaking contributions to the fitness industry. Established in 1983 by Italian designer Nerio Alessandri, the brand has evolved from a fitness equipment company into a comprehensive ecosystem of wellness lifestyle and the epitome of Italian design.

About Design to Move 

In celebration of its landmark 40th anniversary, Technogym proudly announces a visionary project- ‘Design to Move.' The project explores the special and deep relation between design and wellness, style and functionality, emotional and tangible, that has always represented a key element of Technogym since its inception. The special project has been visually planned and conceived together with the acclaimed Architect and Designer Giulio Cappellini and curated by Bruna Roccasalva who has gathered 40 artists and designers from around the world and inspired them to interpret the concept of wellness through their individual artistic and cultural lenses. During Milan Design Week, they were displayed at the Design to Move exhibition in Technogym Milan in conjunction with Salone del Mobile. A selection of 15 Technogym Benches will be auctioned in collaboration with Sotheby’s in September 2024, with all other Technogym Benches available for purchase on All proceeds will be donated to UNICEF.

Wilson Ng and the "Movement of Symphony" 

Local artist Wilson Ng is amongst the creative talents involved in the Design to Move project, inspired by the theme of movement. Bold tiger stripes, representing strength and determination, cascade across the surface, complemented by graceful arcs of the hornbill's wings and vibrant hues of the hibiscus. The artwork also incorporates stark lines symbolising challenges and obstacles in our journey, portraying them not as barriers but as opportunities for growth and transformation, reflecting the indomitable resilience of the Malaysian people. Crowning the composition, the convergence of the hornbill's wing and the tiger's tail symbolises unity amidst diversity—a powerful reminder of collective action and shared vision in shaping a better world.
