Urban Decay Spring Collection 2015
Urban Decay. The brand that brought you The Naked Series (Basics, 1,2 and 3), the Vice Palette Editions and more has done it again with their impressive Spring 2015 Makeup Collection. Launched in Malaysia two days ago on the 19th of February; the new range features 14 various tones of skin powder foundation, four different color eyeshadows, eight beautiful concealers and ten shades of lipsticks.
Now as this is a wide variety, the range follows consistently to Urban Decay's weightless formulation so expectancy on light and natural tones are definitely there. As I have been going over the products for a week before Chinese New Year, I have also linked the video above to give you a closer look at what the products are all about.
As I have done a little research, the official prices on each product is finally up but I will also be listing down the cost in USD just in case some of you would like to know how much the product is going for overseas.
Naked Skin Ultra Definition Powder Foundation
14 shades; Color featured : Medium Warm, Priced at RM140 / USD36
The Naked Skin Ultra Definition Powder Foundation
First up, we have the Naked Skin Ultra Definition Powder Foundation. Upon the first look, the product comes in a rose gold box covered with a quaint purple pouch. I suspect that this is to protect the packaging of the product which comes in a metallic compact. For as upon touch, it is not very fingerprint friendly.
A Closer Look
However with regards to application, the Naked Skin Ultra Definition Powder Foundation blends in extremely comfortably to the skin and blurs out the fine lines and winkles around your face for that perfect flawless look. I admit I was surprised that the formulation was not cakey at all upon swatch and its velvety formula actually gives a very buildable coverage that provides a dewy matte finish to the skin.
Coated in micro-milled powders to give the Naked Skin Ultra Definition Powder Foundation a creamy feel, the Naked Skin also comes with a special sponge that works both the wet and dry method. There are two separate ends to it, so you can actually have the choice on how you would want the foundation to look on your skin.
Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer
8 shades; Color Featured : Medium Neutral, Priced at RM105/ USD 28
The Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer
The Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer on the other hand is a gem. It is really lightweight upon application and settles in well to the skin. It is also extremely comfortable packed on plus what I really love about it is that the formulation doesn't settle into the fine lines of the face and that the coverage really does the trick of providing a high concealing and demi-mattifying finish to the skin.
Plus in between its buildable medium to high coverage, the Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer improves skins' youthful appearance by its ingredients of Japanese Green Tea. It also revitalizes and reduces the appearance of fine lines resulting in a more moisturized, brighter, and radiant complexion.
Sheer Revolution Lipstick
10 shades; Color Featured : Sheer Rapture, Priced at RM85 (New Edition) / USD 20
Old Edition is at RM75
The Sheer Revolution Lipstick in Sheer Rapture
Now since I am an absolute hoarder for lipsticks, I can honestly tell you that this has to be one of my absolute favorites to date. This Sheer Revolution Lipstick is absolute gold in terms of giving great moisturizing properties to the lips, plus it also has a creamy texture, great color and is non-sticky.
The First and Second Edition
The one that we have here is in Sheer Rapture and it has a beautiful purple pink sheen that gives a very subtle yet sweet look to the lips. If I am not mistaken, this is a second edition of the Sheer Revolution Lipstick series and the repackaging of the product is absolutely amazing.
As mentioned in the video, I do not really own much on sheen lipsticks partly because the glossy effect tends to show more on the crack bits on my lips. However this Sheer Revolution Lipstick is an exception because the intensity of the gloss is not that high and somehow it gives off a plumped up effect that gives a very nice illusion of a fuller lip.
4 shades; Color Featured : Scorpio, Priced at RM72/ USD 20
The Moondust Eyeshadow in Scorpio
As for the Moondust Eyeshadow in Scorpio, it is absolutely perfect for night looks. Not something that you would wear daily I would imagine but its smooth texture gives great blending abilities, smoothing the color over the eyelid, with or without a primer.
Adding four more colors into their permanent Moondust Eyeshadow collection, I think what really surprised me about this was that the fall out for the glitter was not as much as I would have expected it to be. As you saw in the video, without a primer, the intensity itself was already quite high and even though there was fallout of the glitter, it was definitely not that much.
The Moondust Eyeshadow is certainly something to look out for as its buttery smooth formulation, high pigmentation of color and strong intensity is certainly there. I would absolutely understand why this would be a must have collection in any girls vanity for after all, which girl wouldn't like playing with eyeshadows right?
To summarize it down, I would say that all four products are pretty revolutionary in their own way. I would say that my preferences lean more toward Urban Decay's Complete Coverage Concealer and Sheer Rapture Revolution Lipstick as those two products really exceeded my expectations in terms of formulation, color, being weightless and natural while having moisturizing properties.
