IGNITE THE SPARK OF LUNAR NEW YEAR WITH HABIB

Lunar New Year or Spring Festival is a celebration of the beginning of a new year based on the Lunar calendar. For HABIB, a Malaysian jeweller with more than 64 years of experience in this industry, there are no exceptions when it comes to celebrating this festive season with its yearly campaign, to appreciate and celebrate the many cultures and customers from all walks of life and races.

Based on the Chinese Zodiac, 2022 is the year of the Tiger, an animal that signifies courage, power and confidence. People born in Tiger year are predicted to be brave, competitive, unpredictable, confident and display great levels of willpower. This year, HABIB launched the limited-edition Tiger 999 Gold Wafer Coin in celebration of this. This collector’s piece is inspired by the Tiger year, combining the auspicious colours; red and gold. HABIB has also teamed up with Disney for a Disney x HABIB Winnie The Pooh: CNY Edition. It comprises two uniquely designed 999 gold wafer coins in the designs of Winnie the Pooh and Tigger.

Traditionally, giving ‘ang pao’ (red packet) filled with money to family and friends is a sign of blessing to start the new year. This year, take your ‘ang pao’ giving to the next level, by giving them in the form of these 999 gold wafer coins. With the new year, come new possibilities and beginnings, and the collection this year is Ignite the Spark. The jewellery this season is inspired by elements that signify new beginnings and auspiciousness during this festive season.

Apart from the famous lion dance, lanterns also play an important role during this period. It is a symbol of illumination to the future that brings happiness, good fortune and good luck as we celebrate the coming of the new year. If a thousand years back, lanterns were ubiquitous in ceremonies and celebrations, as time went by, it even served as contemporary decor. Special for Lunar New Year, HABIB launched the Lanterna Oro Italia 916® collection, with designs inspired by lanterns in a selection of auspicious colors: red, gold, pink and green. These designs include elements like gold tassels that symbolizes good luck and prosperity. Available in 22K, it would be a perfect jewelry to be worn during family gatherings during the celebration.

The diamond collection reflects the festivity of fireworks. The colorful sparks that lighten up the sky during the eve of Chinese New Year welcomes a brand-new year while it enlivens the celebration with your loved ones. Many would have this tradition to stay up late just to see the beauty of the fireworks burst when the clock hits 12:00 midnight.

The HABIB Fireworks diamond collection adds a jubilant atmosphere during this festive period. As the name suggests, this range is inspired by fireworks to bring good luck and happiness to its wearer. Each piece of jewellery is crafted with care, mimicking the burst of fireworks in a selection of diamond or ruby gemstones. Most of the pieces are available in a set to add a touch of sparkle to your outfit for reunion dinners and get-togethers to celebrate the coming of the new year.
