DIY Blue Gradient Nail Art Tutorial

I know it is pretty difficult to do a gradient nail art on all ten fingers - especially if you are trying it for the first time.

I was like that when I first started exploring with it but after a few tries I managed to get the look I wanted without much hassle.

So I would like to do a tutorial for all gradient nail art lovers out there and share my thoughts on how to do this.

Kindly take note that this is not the only way to do it - it is just the best hassle-free way that I have tried that has worked for me on every occasion. And the best part is that this can be done in under 45 minutes.

Now let's go through it step by step.

Step 1:

Start off with clean and well buffered nails. If you have nail polish on,
do remove it nicely and take your emery board to shape and buff them nicely.
This is to ensure that the surface of the nail is even when you put on the nail lacquer.

Step 2:

Place a thin layer of "O.P.I Nail Envy" over your nails for a strong base.
This gives your nails ample of protection.

Step 3:

Choose a quick drying white nail polish for your base.

Do not miss out this step.
This is to ensure your colors come out stronger and more vibrant when you apply the gradient.

Step 4:

Take out a cosmetic sponge and cut it in half with a scissors.
It is best to use the triangular shaped one for more precision.

Step 5:

The 3 colors used for the gradient.
From Left: "O.P.I Blue My Mind, O.P.I Swimsuit...Nailed It!, O.P.I Catch Me In Your Net"

Step 6:

Start off by painting the first color: (O.P.I Blue My Mind) at the base of the sponge.

Next, take the second color:(O.P.I Swimsuit...Nailed It!) and paint it above the previous color.

Finally, complete your gradient with the last color: (O.P.I Catch Me In Your Net)

Step 7:

Quickly take your sponge and press it evenly on your nail through a horizontal motion.
This is to make sure that you have distributed the colors evenly.
Once you have all 10 nails dry - repeat this step a second time.

Step 8:

Finally, lock the colors in with a quick drying top coat.
I am using "Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat."

Step 9:

Here you go - The finished look!

9 simple, hassle free steps for you to enjoy your gradient nail art. The best part is that you can do this with any amount of nail color combinations that you like - just make sure that your white nail polish color is a really good one.

Anyway, I hope you have enjoyed this nail art tutorial and have tons of fun trying it out :) But remember, the more colorful your nail combination palette is, the more vibrant your nail art will become!

So good luck and until next time! :)
