Sitting down with Sisley Paris's International Makeup Artist, Pascal Capitaine

Sisley Paris Malaysia has been one of the premium brands that has been around the beauty community for quite some time now, and this week they had brought in their International Makeup Artist Pascal Capitaine to have a sit down with us and go through their latest additions; one of which is their Le Phyto Rouge range.

Held at The Westin KL, we also experienced the brand's product line and new insertions as well to their makeup, skincare and newly launched hair-care range, and with that we also asked him a couple of questions about his favorite products from the brand, makeup tips and more.

Now before we get into the interview, a product highlight that we would like to mention from Sisley Paris; especially when you are just  getting familiar with their makeup range is their Phyto Blush Twist. There are 6 shade variations in the collection and they give a very natural glow and radiance to the skin. It has a cream textured formula which upon contact to the skin settles to a nice velvety powder finish and is very lightweight upon wear as well.

Makeup Tips with Pascal Capitaine:

• How do we make our makeup last longer?

• Always use a good primer. Make your base well-hydrated and apply a light layer of foundation on the top. This would make it luminous as well.

• For Asian-esque eyes, how do we make a smokey eye work?

• Always lift. Do a light wing with the Phyto-Eye Twist and blend it from the outer to the inner corners of your eye, lifting it upwards as you do so. This technique helps, especially when you have less eyelid space to work with. Never blend downwards.

• What do you think about the 'baking' technique?

• It is nice for shoots and editorial but for daily makeup wear, you want to keep things light and natural. Less is more.

• How do you recommend that we refresh or fix our makeup after wearing it out for a long time?

• I like using a good mist to refresh, but for touching up, use a good loose powder to set the look.

• What are the lip shades from the Le Phyto Rouge range that are favored for the upcoming Winter Collection 2018?

• That would be shade 41 & 42.

• Do you do lip contouring when doing makeup looks?

• Yes, I like using lip liners to contour the lips. It keeps the lipstick well in place and makes the lips look fuller.

In terms to haircare, Sisley's latest release which is their Voluminizing Spray caught us by surprise, because not only did it give a nice natural volume to the hair, but it's texture is also extremely gentle and soft once its applied to the roots. It is a lightweight wear which can last throughout the day and the best part is that it can last through humidity which makes it wonderful to use for our weather as well.

On overall, the session definitely gave us a more in depth look at Sisley and their product line, so in terms to that, we are very happy to say that the experience with the brand has been nothing short of impressive. The products have remained consistent with their formulation & quality, are easy to use and travel friendly; thus we cannot wait to see what the brand comes up with next.
