Ladies, its time to buckle up and welcome the second launch of the day for the month of September. This time it is a M.A.C release and this collection was so hyped on Instagram and Tumbler that people were already anticipating the launch months before the range even came out.


Available at all M.A.C stores today, the reservations for these lipsticks are already flying off of the counters. Last I heard, the darkest shade 'Eugenie' was already out of stock at most stores. However on a positive note, let's pick up from that and talk about the range.

The shades

Now there are five lipsticks in total, however the ones that I have in hand are only three and they are all in the different shades of beautiful matte reds.


As you can see from the packaging, the whole form from the inside and out is monochromatic that follows each color of every different lipstick within the range and needless to say that this on its own, already makes the collection stand out even more.

Unveil

What I think many people were very excited about was that even though these lipsticks were matte, they had a sort of sheen to it so it was kind of one of those lipsticks that were in between moisturizing and mattifying. Technically in a nutshell, I would call them moisturizing mattes, if that made any sense.


However breaking down the colors, I honestly have no favorites. All of them beautiful, all of them swatch very smoothly and pigmentation wise is very impressive. With regards to long-wear, I would say that it'd be up to 5 hours without reapplication so in hindsight that is not too bad.

Now here is the fun part; trying out the colors. I was actually very torn in between the shades on which one I wanted to swatch on first. This particular one in Tats is a very fuchsia shade of pink and it is just such a pretty color for summer. One swatch is truly all you need for this and if you would like to line the lips as well, a good color match for this would be the M.A.C liner in Process Magenta Chromagraphic Lip Pencil.

Now remember back when I said that the color 'Eugenie' was already out of stock at most stores? Well, this is the one. Honestly though, I feel like this picture is not doing the lipstick any kind of justice, however in natural light it is pretty much more of a plum shade which would be great if you paired it off with a very dark or even a black lip liner.


However for this shade, you might need to do some blotting after application to properly mattify the color, but other than that, it is all good.

Finally the classic red in Charlotte. So much yes. This shade is a universal color that is simply gorgeous on basically any skin tone. So if you are the type that is sort of having a little reservation on which shade to pick, this one right here would honestly be your best bet.


There isn't much need for a liner on this lip color to be honest, but you can definitely try the M.A.C Trust in Red Pro Longwear Lip Pencil if you want your lips to be a little bit more defined.

Overall I think all three shades are amazing and the reason why I didn't get the other two was because they were a little bit too miss-matchy to my skin tone. One was too light and the other was simply too orange. However, if you do love mattes and if you love your reds, these three shades here are a winner to any beauty junkie out there. Plus for the price at RM87, they are super affordable too.

Overall Thoughts

I am actually quite surprised that I don't really have anything bad to say about this collection because they are seriously living up to the hype. I honestly can't say much about the other two shades though but these three right here are the best lip colors that I have come across from M.A.C on a first impression to date.
