The Moisture Touch Lipsticks
Now you guys know that when it comes to lip products, I hardly ever pull my punches. This is because I live and breathe for shades and formulation, thus if and when a product disappoints, you can be assured that I would be the first to tell you guys all about it.
Nonetheless, it has come to my attention that some of the newer textures that have been released from certain beauty brands (namely from Korea) have been really good, so when I gave a go on The Face Shop's Moisture Touch Lipsticks over the course of last month, I expected nothing less than what was to be expected.
The Face Shop Moisture Touch Lipsticks
The Four Shades
In its description, the Moisture Touch Lipstick states that the product provides moisturizing care and long lasting radiant color. It is also enriched with multiple layers of hydrating serum and creates a protective barrier that leaves lips plumped and hydrated. It also states that each shade stays true and becomes more radiant as it is applied layer after layer, due to the highly dense color compact as well.
So far it sounds good, but let's start off with the packaging first. Packed in a gray casing, the cap has a color-coded top which is nice when you are trying to spot it in your vanity stash. It closes well with a tight click and is lightweight; which makes the lipstick extremely travel friendly too.
BE01 Beige Bomb
In terms of shades, here we have the most neutral of them all which is in code BE01 Beige Bomb. This nude color has a cool undertone and pairs very well to tan skin (Though I suspect it would suit most skin types).
I enjoy pairing this with a strong eye look for it would bring any shade out more but on overall, this is a great lip product to have in your makeup collection for the texture is not only creamy, but coats well on the lips and doesn't take much effort to apply on.
RD02 Red Rising
Yes, yes and yes to this color. Now you all know that I enjoy a bold lip every now and then and this one is a classic red that goes on perfectly for a night out. It has rich color payoff, long lasting moisture and gives the lips great coverage - even outlining the cupids bow a little more than usual, especially if you are going for a more plumped look heading out.
On the lips
One thing to note about this is that when you pair it, go for a subtle eye in order not to exaggerate the look. This shade has strong pigmentation so you don't want to look heavily overdone. Also another tip is that because the formulation for this lipstick is very creamy, there would be transfer, so after application, it would be great to blot the texture gently for a more even finish.
PK02 Pink Flash
This tone is the perfect pink that is well suited to most Asian skin types. It is sweet, it brightens any overall look and leaves the lips extremely moisturized, glossed and healthy. Pairing this up with a smoky eye compliments the look well and since the shade is buildable, you can choose the intensity however you would want it too.
Applied on the lips
What I really like about this shade is that it is not too bright, hence it is pretty much wearable during the day. You can also transition it to a night look and build the color up, so it is quite versatile in that sense. Other than that, it glides on really well without any tugging and does not cling on to any dry patches on the lips.
CR02 Feel So Coral
Feel So Coral
As for our last lip shade in Feel So Coral, the tone isn't as opaque as the others above, but it does give a nice light color on the lips. I realized that the formulation on this is a little different than the rest as well as it does settle into the dry bits on my lips quite a bit, but if you were to top it off with a gloss, it would be quite fine.
Pairing it off with shimmer shades is the best way to go for this and if you would like a bit more glam, you can also add some gold shimmer to the center of the lips as well. The one aspect that I appreciate about this tone though is that the moisturizing aspect for it remains unchanged. It also doesn't bleed or smudge, hence you wouldn't need to worry about the color shifting anytime during the day.
On the four shades
On overall, these lipsticks are great and for the price point of RM63.49, it is very affordable too. The color payoff is wonderful, the lasting power for this is lovely at 4-5 hours without reapplication and on overall the color range is vast, which means there are plenty of shades to choose from as well.
