The Bourjois Rouge Edition Aqua Laque

Ever since the launch of Bourjois Rouge Edition Aqua Laque; reviews have been pouring in globally from left right and center; focusing on the product's amazing hydration purpose, its strong pigmentation of color and amazing texture.


Now if you are sort that struggles with lip products due to having cracked and chapped lips; this might be the savior to all your lip needs but of course before going into that; let's break it down in terms of its application, texture, feel, long-lasting duration and of course the pigmentation.

The shades in 03, 07 and 08

From the eight splendid shades, there were three that Bourjois had sent down and as luck would have it; they were exquisite.


In codes 03 Brun Croyable, 07 Fuchsia Perchie and 08 Babe Idole, each of them had a wonderful tone but unlike the Rouge Edition Velvet; the texture had a more lightweight watery feel and its packaging played with a nice metallic touch which made the product feel incredibly luxurious to carry around daily.

The Applicators

Applicators were slanted and the felt tip was very soft; but I did find that it absorb quite a bit of product hence when the distribution was applied onto the lip, it became rather streaky. This did not apply to all the colors mind you; but this did take into effect on the softer shades rather than the darker ones.

Swatch

As you can see from the swatch, pigmentation was only there when the color was not stretched. After applying it evenly, you can see that the color does not really distribute as well as it ought to.


I will give one really factor to this product though which I am extremely glad that Bourjois took into consideration; is that unlike other glossy lip colors out there, this particular Aqua Laque range does not have any form of stickiness once applied to the lip. It plumps and diminishes all those cracked bits and it seriously does not leave any sticky residue after.

Thoughts?

As for the duration on how long the product would last; I would say that about a good four to five hours will do. Reapplication is rather difficult as the second layer does not stick on to well to the lip but if you are not looking to wear this throughout the day consistently, this will not be an issue.

In the meantime, the Rouge Edition Aqua Laque is retailing for RM45.50 (now at an introductory price of RM42.80) at both Watsons and its Bourjois Kiosk at Sunway Pyramid. In addition for selected Watsons stores you will get a gift with any purchase of  RM60 products while at the Kiosk you will be able to get a different one with an RM80 purchase.
