Mary Quant Smoo Make Powder Foundation |
If you have read my previous posts on Mary Quant you would know that by now that this brand in no stranger to me. I would say that everyone knows them for their colorful play of mascaras to their pigmented eyeshadows but what can be said about their powdered foundation?
I don't know why but I always tend to relate Mary Quant's logo to Marc Jacobs. That same daisy shape is intriguing and mind you both are quite similar; what with sleek yet simple designs that allows the user to explore their unique creativity with the product.

Close Up |
Of course packaging wise is one thing, but when it comes to sealing your makeup; or even at the least your foundation; it's always best to use a powdered finish hence this is where Mary Quant's Smoo Make Up Foundation comes in. I think what I really loved about this was it's wear-ability of choice of applying it alone or with a liquid foundation. Play to the best of the products capabilities I always say.

Detachable Lid |
Plus for all you travel friendly people out there, I believe this is going to be a highlight for you as Mary Quant's Smoo Make Up Foundation also has a detachable lid where you can remove the foundation and place it in a separate palette for travel purposes or even replace it with another refill once the product is finished. This comes quite convenient especially for those who like placing all their makeup in one palette when heading abroad.

Swatch |
However upon swatching the product on my finger, I was a little hesitant for the shade (0-40;Natural) had a very light yellow undertone which at the time I was afraid that it might be a shade or two lighter on my skin-tone. Nonetheless, after applying it with my beauty blender, I was amazed to see just how lightweight and great it looked on my skin.

Application |
Believe it or not but even with the usage of the usual powder puff or cosmetic sponge, the application was velvety smooth and extremely easy to blend. The pictures above was done solely with the Mary Quant's Smoo Make Up Foundation without any previous use or liquid foundation or primer and as you can see, the coverage is quite good.

Close Up Shot |
Covering up from light to medium coverage, this product is quite good for touch ups and for daily use. A pretty handy thing to pack in your travel case while you are traveling as well. I wore this out for about six hours and I found that it has high moisturizing abilities and also adds a rather three dimensional look when you take photos as it also controls light to create the ideal sun-kissed tone for your skin.

I am not a make-up person. But I think this base foundation is a great product for a stand-alone foundation..
ReplyDeleteVery true; it's more for a quick fix daily makeup routine so it's great as a stand alone as well as a seal in powder for liquid foundation :)
Deletemost of the girls need a reference if they will buy a single product and with this, it will help them a lot.
