The Body Shop Down To Earth Quad Eyeshadow Palette

I have been hearing plenty of good things over The Body Shop's Down To Earth Eyeshadow Palette, and since we haven't really expanded on the brand's makeup range, I thought it would be a good time to sit down and have a really good look at their new additions for the New Year.

Hence, in preview of the collection where if you have seen on our Instagram Page, you would notice that The Body Shop has come up with a variety of quads together with an 8 shadow palette that have a great assortment of shades, ranging to suit every eye color imaginable.

The Packaging

Now makeup artist Wayne Goss has been a big advocate of these palettes and taking a look at some of his swatches online has been really impressive as well. Nonetheless, there is nothing like having a more hands on experience with the shades, so just for today, we are going to be discussing just that.

The shades within the palette

So like the name suggests, this is a smokey grey palette. Great for night looks, it is packed into this sleek compact that is extremely easy to carry around with you at any time of the day. It also has a huge mirror so that you can apply the tones on evenly onto the lids.

The only downside to this is that it does not come with an applicator, so be prepared to pack in your favorite eyeshadow brush into your bag when you would like to use this palette on the go.

Unboxed

There are 3 shimmers and one matte shade within the compact, and upon swatching it at the back of the hand, the pigmentation on each of the tones are extremely strong and does not have much fall out. Nonetheless, when applied on the lids with a brush, the blendability is great, however the fallout seems to be a little more, especially when it comes to the shimmer shadows.

The Quad
Swatches

Now you can opt to use these shades wet or dry to intensify your look, but using them wet can really pack in a punch on tones you have never seen before. The shimmers become a glossy metallic and the matte becomes a stronger hue of grey which is absolutely beautiful when used on the outer V.

Also, I am not sure if you can see this clearly here but the matte shade on this palette is amazing. It is creamy, buttery and blends out like a dream with the other shades. There was one point I even tried working it in with several different brushes to see if the pigmentation would wear off on the crease, but the quality remained the same throughout despite the variety that was used. A very solid palette indeed.

On overall, I can completely see what Wayne Goss was going on about when it came to these palettes, and for the price point of RM109, The Body Shop did a splendid job on coming out with these. I found that the brand focused well in terms of their direction too, and hence putting more emphasis on the formulation instead of just the packaging, the turnout of these new additions were simply splendid.

On Overall

In the meantime, for more details on the product range, you can head over to The Body Shop's Official Website and Facebook Page for further information.
