Marc Jacobs Magic Marc'er Precision Pen Review

Sometimes when it comes to our vanity table, one cannot have too many eyeliners. My current favorite is by Kanebo KATE's Super Sharp Liner just because it gives you that sharp precision when you want to sport that perfect cat eye look.

However when the Marc Jacobs Beauty Line came out, I simply could not resist purchasing one for myself. However to be completely honest, I was contemplating on getting either this Magic Marc'er Precision Pen (RM89) or their best selling Gel Crayon Eyeliner (RM82) which I have heard so much about. The difference in price was only RM7 after all but seeing that I had already bought myself a gel liner a couple of weeks back, I decided to go for the latter and try my luck on this one instead.

Marc Jacob's Magic Marc'er Precision Pen Eye Liner Packaging

The thing about Marc Jacobs is that when you purchase their one of their products, it's a long term investment. The understated luxury and packaging is all a given but the longer you use it, you will eventually learn how to understand the product and use it to it's fullest potential while it is in your keep.

I have actually been hearing a lot of mix reviews about the Marc Jacobs Magic Marc'er Precision Pen but seeing as I have been using it for the past 2 months, my opinion remains that I love every bit of it.

I don't know about you but I feel that this precision pen gives you full control when you draw on your eyeliner and is extremely easy to glide it on your eye when application is due. Admittedly it doesn't dry as fast as one would like; at most you would need to give it a full 1 minute to properly set before applying the rest of your makeup.

The felt tip

The felt tip is great as well because it gives you the capacity of expanding the thickness of your drawn line on your eye without the hassle of going over over the same line once more.

The color pay-off is extremely vibrant as well and by far it has to be one of the glossiest eyeliners I have tried on in a while. So think shiny black if you are looking to purchase this eyeliner.

Application on lids

Plus seeing that I have oily lids, I was extremely happy when I found out that this eyeliner does not smudge at all. I actually went swimming with this on and even so, it did not come out. I really wished that most brands would consider this factor with their eyeliners when it comes to their customers.  It really is helpful!

I find that the pricing for this liquid eyeliner is in a pretty standard range when compared to brands like MAC, Bobbi Brown or Smashbox and I have to say for me this item would definitely be on my repurchase list. The only thing that I have yet to encounter is how long this product will last and whether this precision pen dries up quickly as said in the vlogger reviews. But I guess I will only know when time passes. Here is to hoping though!

  1. Aaah this looks amazing! I love pen type eyeliners, and this one sounds/looks super good, especially if it doesn't budge even after a swim. :D

  2. Agree, the price for this designer label makeup item is reasonable :) I haven't tried a pen liner, I'm quite comfortable with the standard liquid eyeliner but this MJ piece looks like it's worth a try...good review, Shivani!

  3. I have this! I can't wait to use it! I have many pen liners but this is the most weighty and luxurious-looking one in my collection. It had to come from Marc.

  4. Oh God! WHY SHIVI?! WHY?! You know I'm going to get it now, don't you? And have you touched the brushes? WHYYYYYY?!
