Miss Hana Lip Balm Crayon Review

As all girls have gone about the lip craze and some even well past the phase; you could say that I am not one to follow that particular trend. It is no secret that I often love lip colors and the crazier the color is; the higher chances I would probably have a go at it.

Being no stranger to the Taiwanese brand Miss Hana, as they are quite well known for their gel eyeliner pencils I was anticipating their latest lip balm crayon collection. With a fresh array of five shades (01 Purple Sakura Season,  02 NY Uptown Pink Girl, 03 Orange Twilight, 04 Peach Champs-Elysees and 05 Moulin Rouge Diva); each color was said to be extremely pigmented, vibrant and above all moisturizing to the lip.

Up Close

Upon the receiving end, there was two out of the five which was 01 Purple Sakura Season along with 02 NY Uptown Pink Girl. Thinking that these were the Barbie-like colors; I couldn't help favor the 02 NY Uptown Pink Girl shade and decided to give it a go first.

Application

Application was smooth on my chapped lips but the scent took me back of those little sweets with the white sugary powder in a round thin can that I used carry around with me when I was a young girl. Not something that I would usually find in a lip balm but the experience was definitely interesting.

01 Purple Sakura Season:

A bright purple colored balm; scent was more like berries and application was extremely smooth.

Duration Lasted: 2 Hours

02 NY Uptown Pink Girl:

A light pink sheer shade; scent was reminiscent of sugary sweets and application was smooth.

Duration Lasted: 2 Hours

Overall review

Both colors matched well to my skin-tone but like every product there are minor drawbacks. While these lip colors were beautifully pigmented, duration wise; they did not last long. I think when I wore it out; they lasted me around two hours at most and that was without munching or eating anything in between.

As Miss Hana's Lip Balm Crayons are not the twist-able type of lippies; you would need to purchase a separate sharpener for them as well. However this is no matter as if you do purchase any of Miss Hana Lipbalm Crayon from Natta Cosme you will receive a Miss Hana Sharpener for free. Just key in the code MHSHARP and you are good to go.

I think that other than the minor drawbacks the colors are quite lovely in terms of doing ombre tinting on your lips. Mix and match them with other shades and who knows? Colors will definitely show. Currently available at Natta Cosme at RM 39.90 RM 29.90 for 4g; maybe it would be a good time to have a look and check it out.

  3. The colors definitely suits you. Not too sure whether bright colors would suit me, still experimenting. But definitely love Lip crayons compared to others.

  11. I agree, the pink one looks best on you. I love lip balms but they really don't last long. They're the best products for my dry lips though. Regular lipsticks usually dry out my lips.

    1. Thanks Janice dear. I agree with the concept of lip balms and lipsticks and how they dry out the lips but more often than not after experimenting with a few I found that Burts Bees is quite fantastic in terms of lasting impressions and application. Maybe you can try to give that one a go? :)
