THE FACE SHOP Flat Velvet & Glossy Lipsticks Review

THE FACE SHOP's Latest Addition for January 2018

Having being used to bullet tip applicators when it comes to lipsticks, this new insertion by THE FACE SHOP has certainly caught us by surprise. This latest addition that showcases 12 new lipsticks split in 2 new formulations, not only has vivid colors in their midst, but also an enriched formula featuring 5 main essential oils that doesn't fail to impress.

Color Swatch and Application

Now above you will find the swatches and application of both formulas (velvet & glossy) for each and every shade, and if you are unsure of the methods of application using the flat, square tip on the lipstick - do take a look at the diagram below too as it will demonstrate on how to line your lips and fill in the color as well.

The Guide on How To Sculpt The Shape

The Velvets
Swatched

Now within the velvet shades, we have six highly pigmented colors, starting from the left swatched in BE01 Solar Beige, PK01 Rose Pink, PK02 in Be My Pink, RD01 London Red, RD02 in Darjeeling Red and RD03 in Classic Red. The texture on each of these shades are soft, creamy and comfortable to wear and are extremely long lasting on the lips.

The Flat Glossy Lipsticks | 6 Shades | 1.8g | RM45 each

The Glossy Formulation
Swatched
As for the Flat Glossy Lipsticks, there are 6 shades within the range as well, swatched from the left starting from  OR01 Punch Orange, CR01 Gemstone Coral, PK01 Lily Pink, PK02 Rococo Pink, RD01 New York Red and RD02 in Berry Up Red. Now each of these are pigmented in their own way but while their shades may not be as opaque as the velvet formulation, theirs has a beautiful high shine that gives a multi dimensional finish to the lips.

Thoughts
Now on overall, both formulations are great to use, but if you have dry lips, what we would suggest is to go for the velvet shades, for the consistency won't settle into fine lines and it gives a very nice even coverage to the lips. However, if you prefer a multi-dimensional gloss like finish, then you could always opt for the glossy consistency instead. These will definitely amp up any look in a great way, plus they are extremely moisturizing as well.
