The Menu

There have been many Daily Fresh kiosks at plenty of shopping malls, R&Rs and even on the Plus Highway  in Malaysia so I would say that the brand is quite easy to find. Establishing themselves in 1977, they have now expanded to more than 800 outlets and 1,000 licensing selling locations globally. Daily Fresh also has their business in 15 countries with four of their main branches located in Dubhai, Jakarta, Shanghai and Riyadh. Their popularity stemmed from their five tasty ready-to-go snacks and desserts such as the 'Cup Corn, Wafito, Ice Kimo, Gelato Tempo and Popcorn'.

Being a customer of Daily Fresh for many years now, I am a huge foodie fan of their Wafito (Waffles), especially the Peanut Butter one. A fun fact for those of you who didn't know, there are actually two different types of Wafitos at Daily Fresh which is the Wafito Classic and the Wafito Premium.

Constructing it's name from a combination of  "Wa = Waffle , Fi = Filling and To = Topping", Daily Fresh's Wafito comes in nine mouth-watering flavors, where two of it is it's own form of local uniqueness. Made fresh from the waffle appliance, the Wafito is served piping hot to it's customers complete with a crispy texture and a tasteful crunch at every bite. The chocolate waffle one is pretty exceptional (though maybe I'm a bit bias since I like chocolate) but if you are like me do try that one as the taste is amazing especially if you top it off with peanut butter.

This cute little corn in a cup actually brings back a lot of memories from my childhood days. Daily Fresh keeps it's servings healthy at 100% natural, low fat and high fiber. What makes it more intriguing is that their corn is actually grown through their sister's company, Mah Yong which has the biggest corn plantation in Simpang Reggang, Johor. Available in five different flavors, you can always kick it up a notch by sampling their savory Garlic Cheese or even the delicious Chili one. Give it a go, it's actually pretty good!

Daily Fresh Gelato Tempo is an Italian-style gelato ice-cream. Not wanting to miss providing their consumers with authentic Italian Gelato, all ingredients are imported directly from Italy. A fun fact on the process though is that Daily Fresh uses a One-Shot Dispenser System to eliminate the usage of the soft serve ice cream machine.

What I found out that was quite interesting is that all of it's ingredients are pre-packed for quality and size control and are kept fresh in the freezer before popping it into the One-Shot Dispenser System for serving. This actually keeps the servings for Daily Fresh Gelato Tempo extremely clean and hygienic. However, if you are not too much on sweet things don't worry, for the taste is quite spot on. Seeing as there are ten flavors to sample, you actually have quite a vast variety as each texture is very creamy and melts quickly in your mouth.

I have to say, I absolutely love the play one words here for 'Ice Kimo.' You know how in Lat Comics they would talk about having shaved ice with syrup after school hours? It is the exact same concept with Daily Fresh except they serve them in cups. I did try this once before to see how good it was (since my parents did rave about it too) and I have to say I wished that more places had these. Such a good refresher during those hot day moments. Consisting of seven flavors, Daily Fresh Ice Kimo is priced at RM4.20 per cup.

Last but not least is the latest addition to the Daily Fresh family tree; the Flavored Popcorn. With it's corn kernels imported directly from USA, this gives Daily Fresh Popcorn a bit more of a crunchier bite. The popcorn also contains no MSG nor preservatives hence if you were to buy to take home, you would need to consume the quantity within four months. There are five flavors to date and even though I know some of the flavors might sound a little bit questionable (like the Spicy Curry or Seaweed for instance) it actually tastes quite good. So if you have a flair for experimentation; why not give it a go?
