It's a no brainer really, but as for the beauty item you choose, you have to take into consideration that the product would need to have several properties within that would work for your skin to make your routine whole. So as listed below, here are some factors to tick off your list when looking for one.
Properties to prioritize in an all in one skincare product
3. Smoothing & Soothing
6. Ultra Nourishing
So to kick off this review, the Sekkisei Herbal Gel went on trial for two weeks and after the fortnight, below was what was found.
KOSÉ Sekkisei Herbal Gel
In terms of cutting short our skincare routine time to half, it delivers well. The texture settles onto the skin smoothly without fuss; creating a soft non-sticky veil that will slowly penetrate into the skin as the day goes by. I can totally see the product being multi-functional as well as it combines 6 skincare benefits into one and as all of us do appreciate the occasional quick fixes for our complexion, this product does seem absolutely perfect for that.
However in terms of drawbacks, there is one - and this only applies to those of us who have dry skin. This multi-functional gel, as good as it may be is not that effective in terms of delivering higher levels of moisture.
You seem the one thing that I did realize after applying it on religiously for two weeks was that my hydration level remained more or less the same after the product was applied on. So whilst it did deliver slight radiance and soothing properties to the skin, all it did was maintain and balance the hydration within.

Now this might be wonderful for those with combination skin tones who are on the go and travel a lot, but for those who have dry skin and need a little more moisture on flights, a good boost would be to combine this product with a serum; as I did with my Shiseido Ultimune Power Infusing Concentrate. Results were more significant thereafter and after doing a little experimentation, I began to enjoy using the combo so much more.
"A recommended tactic is to apply this on at night to give a longer lasting hydration up to 8 hours, so that when you wake up, your skin is well rested and supple in the morning."
So how is the Sekkisei Herbal Gel in terms of price? Inclusive of GST prices, its retail is at RM130 which is pretty decent for a big 79ml tub. It's multi-functionality certainly has its pull and considering that the product is very travel friendly, it certainly comes in handy during flights.
