Festive Afternoon Tea at New World Petaling Jaya Hotel

To kickstart the New Year, my friends and I decided to head on over to New World Petaling Jaya Hotel to check out their Festive Afternoon Tea. We hadn't seen each other in awhile so we thought this would be a rather great way to spend New Years together while trying out something new.

Now I have personally stayed at New World when they first opened and I absolutely loved the atmosphere there. Cosy, quiet, intimate, plus the sights were just absolutely lovely. Now this high tea was located at their Lobby Lounge at Level 2, so the easiest way to come by if you are travelling by car is to park at Level B2 at Paradigm Mall (the hotel and the mall share parking), keep a look out for the elevator that takes you to the hotel lobby and then take it up and walk to the main elevator which would then take you over to Level 2. The high tea area will be located on your left.

Now this afternoon tea is priced at only RM99 nett for 2 people and comes with sweets, savouries, scones and coffee or tea of choice. I should also mention that if you are dining in on the weekends, you would be able to experience the lovely high view at Level 29, (RC Lounge) but during the weekdays which was when we decided to come by, you will be seated in the Lobby Lounge at Level 2.

Initially this experience was meant to be up till the 31st of December 2020, but New World Hotel decided to extend it till the 8th of January 2021, so if you would like to go and check it out, you definitely should while you can. Savoury Serves:

• Foie Gras Au Torchon on Brioche & Apple Chutney 
• Smoked Salmon and Horseradish Mascarpone Mousse in Beetroot Basket 
• Pistachio and Cranberry Cheese Ball 
• Multigrain Tart Shells filled with Crab and Eggs Mayo  

Plain and Raisin Scones, with strawberry jam and clotted cream  

Served with your choice of coffee or tea.

In terms to the serve, we have to say that the portions were very generous in size and tasted quite lovely. The savouries were absolutely delicious and as for the sweets, they were really nice too. Not too overly sweet which was fantastic in our books and just the right amount of balance of richness too.

On overall, my friends and I had a lovely time and the staff was very friendly and nice too. Would definitely make a return for another dining or staycation experience soon, so that's definitely something to look forward to soon.
