Introducing Kiehl's Calendula Toner and Cleansing Foaming Face Wash

When it comes to toners or deep cleansing foams, I always find myself leaning towards floral scents. In the past I have come across plenty of rose petal scents, orange blossoms, lilac and more but this has to be the first that I have come across Calendula.


Of course this best selling skincare duo comes from none other than Kiehl's and I am sure we are all no stranger to this brand as it has proven through it's many years of service that it is one of the top notch global skincare brands that combines pharmaceutical, herbal, medicinal and cosmetic knowledge all into one.

As the Calendula Herbal-Extract Toner has been around and is the second best seller at Kiehl's Malaysia, I thought it would be better to delve into that later and keep our eyes pealed for the latest which is Kiehl's Calendula Deep Cleansing Foaming Face Wash.

Having key ingredients like the Calendula Flower Extract (strong anti-viral and detoxification properties) and Glycerin (moisture to replenish and hydrate skin), the Calendula Deep Cleansing Foaming Face Wash gently cleanses and refreshes the skin while it's rich foam carefully discards impurities and dirt from the face.

Application

Having used it for the past three weeks, I can safely say that it has to be one of the more gentler cleansers that I have used. The fragrance sort of reminds me of tea for some reason but don't worry it is extremely calming to the senses when it is applied.


There is however a trick that I do use to make it all soapy and bubbly (yes I admit I do enjoy them when they are all full of bubbles) which is mixing the face wash with a little bit of water in the palm of my hand before applying it on my face. I somehow find that I get a more even cleansing with the Calendula Deep Cleansing Foaming Face Wash and the consistency won't be as thick when applied on the face.

Since this particular product has already won the hearts of many, it comes to no surprise that the Calendula Herbal-Extract Toner is already a crowd favorite amongst the customers at Kiehl's and after three weeks of use, I would say that this toner is best used after cleansing but before moisturizing as it is very gentle to the skin.


I think one of the best highlights of using this toner is that it actually helps me remove my makeup too. Imagine cutting all that routine, down into just one step and the best part is, with no breakouts whatsoever. Also on the plus side, it is also naturally astringent so it really helps balance the skin's natural oil as well.

Calendula Petals

If you didn't already know, the Kiehl's Calendula Herbal-Extract Toner also has handpicked Calendula petals which you can see floating at the bottom of the bottle that comes from the marigold flower which is extremely soothing to the skin.

Application

Keeping in mind that it is very concentrated, you would only need a few drops per application. The top packaging makes it easier to control the amount you would like to use but always remember to use a good facial cotton pad in order to make sure that not too much of the product gets absorbed.


Gently sweeping it across the skin in an upward motion, the Kiehl's Calendula Herbal-Extract Toner suits well to normal to oily skin. The best part is, men can also use it after shaving to sooth or even calm the skin as well.

Overall, I would say that both products do well on their own but it is best if they are both combined and used together. I find that you can fully optimize the results that way.
