L'Oreal Mat Magique All In One Matte Transforming Powder Review

Full foundation look with the L'Oreal Mat Magique All In One Matte Transforming Powder

Alright girls, if you have been following my posts on Instagram, you would know that I have been raving about the L'Oreal Mat Magique All In One Matte Transforming Powder from the moment I laid my eyes on it a couple of weeks ago at an L'Oreal event. I am usually not one for raves but goodness me, this product was so good that it is now my ultimate setting powder for a clean and matte finish.

Packaging

Funnily enough when I first started looking for it after it's launch, the Mat Magique All In One Matte Transforming Powder was such a hit with it's customers that L'Oreal  fans literally made a clean swipe of it at counters. Honestly it took me at least two weeks to search for the one in my shade but thank goodness for a lovely girl at the Guardian Pharmacy store who gave me a ring and told me to come in and get it the moment it was restocked.

Upon unveiling

Taking a good look at it, the L'Oreal Mat Magique All In One Matte Transforming Powder comes in a pretty pink/magenta casing which looked quite similar to the Maybelline White Superfresh Long Lasting UV Cake. Upon opening it, you would see the matte powder on the left and a square sponge to the right. A mirror is placed well at the top for on the go touch ups.

This matte powder is stated to be 12 hours shine resistant, provides a smooth skin finish, has poreless skin perfection and is one of the first matte all in one powder to be infused with volcanic perlite infusion of a natural yet powder sebum absorbent.

Swatching

Now as all of these are good claims, you can already somewhat guess that I was all the more curious in trying it. So upon the first swatch with the sponge, the  L'Oreal Mat Magique All In One Matte Transforming Powder gave my skin quite a sun kissed skin-tone. As I opted for the shade of G2 Golden Ivory, I sort of expected a more subtle color, but surprisingly the swatch gave my skin a brightening and glowing effect which in turn made me take an immediate liking to it.
Shades Available:

R1: A cool peach toned shade suitable for those who would like to keep their daily look natural.

N1: The fairest shade in the bunch that has a neutral undertone that would suit more to fairer skin tones.

N2: The darker version of the N1. As it has a lovely warm shade it is perfect for the slightly tanner skin tones.

G1: Extremely strong yellow undertones. This would be good for fairer girls to use as a contour base however if for foundation, it would suit best for a more tan to darker skin tones.

G2: This shade is slightly darker than the G1; and will suit the darker skin tones better. Can be used as a matte contour base to sculpt fairer tones as well.

However, if you don't like the color to go on to strongly on the face, it would be best to apply this lightly with a mineral foundation brush. So hence that is why I took it as a finishing powder instead. It covers my slight imperfections extremely well and stays matte for at least 6 hours a day without any touch up.

What do we think?

Full Review:

If you are blessed with flawless skin with minor imperfections, this would be good to use as a light finishing powder with your mineral foundation brush after applying your liquid foundation. However for those who have acne, pimples or other skin issues and I would suggest to do the coverage with the sponge as it does give a more denser application.

In terms of concealing, one swatch is more than enough to conceal any redness as two swatches do tend to cake up after a duration of three hours. With regards to touching up, kindly take note to blot your face before doing any reapplications. This applies to those with an oily skin base as the powder would coagulate at the oily parts after a good five to six hours. So hence a quick tip to blot out those shiny parts before touching up.

Overall this has to be one of the best mattifying powders that I have used and this is quite a big thing for me as I have dry skin. Luckily not as dry as before as specific areas of my face like my T-Zone does tend to oil up after awhile. I also love the fact that it has SPF properties which will help my skin under all the UV rays that we have and the best part is that up till today, I have absolutely no break outs due to it. Completely and utterly amazing. So if you were to ask me if the L'Oreal Mat Magique All In One Matte Transforming Powder is worth the buy and if I would repurchase, I would say yes.  It's a fabulous product and I look forward to seeing more of these in stocks at the counters. Definitely a good investment buy.

Xx!
