Benefit Cosmetics They're Real! Push Up Liner Event

My Real Liner Looks

Many girls search for that perfect eyeliner which have a quick drying finish and a slim winged tip for easy application. Admittedly finding a matte finish in a gel eyeliner pen is rarity in the cosmetic market, so it comes to no surprise that the only one I have come across that has this aspect is the Scribble Calligraphy Liner by Em Cosmetics.

Shall we give this a try?

Taking 5 years to formulate, Benefit Cosmetics latest invention has been the talk of the town for a couple of weeks now.

Anticipating it's global release which is to be on the 27th June 2014,  many girls have been eagerly awaiting Benefit Cosmetics They're Real! Push Up Liner which has been said to be the easiest to glide and apply over all types of eyelids.

With Benefit's Real! Remover and Theyy're Real Push Up Liner

Benefit Cosmetics campaign which evolves around the tagline "If Easy Was A Crime, She Was Guilty" promotes the first lash hugging gel liner pen in a very distinguished look.

Seen for it's simple application to achieve the wing tip, this has to be a dream for all girls who used to have difficulty in a achieving that cat eye look.

So let's talk about the product. Benefit Cosmetics has created a simple packaging for the They're Real! Push Up Liner where you would need to simply unscrew the top off to reveal the product.
The Accuflex Tip

Inside, you will find soft winged applicator which Benefit Cosmetics calls The Accuflex Tip. There is also an orange stopper which I would strongly advise to keep a hold of because it's best to put it back on after each usage else the product will dry out.

Trying out the thickness and application

Two clicks is all you need to get the ample product for both eyes but you will have to work pretty quickly as the They're Real! Push Up Liner does dry incredibly fast.

To be safe, try making different types of lines on the back of you hand first: from ultra-thin to big and bold. Practice manipulating the pen tip to create the type of line effect that you want.

Applying Benefit Cosmetics They're Real! Push Up Liner

To make your look even and thick, it's best to start from the middle. Begin from the root of the lashes and work outwards. After that, create your desired wing tip, connect it to your base line and then slowly color it in. And as simple as that, you are done!

Guidelines

Benefit Cosmetics was sweet to include a guideline for those that weren't all too familiar with putting on different eyeliner looks. There were three types of looks that you could choose from and whichever one that suited your eye best, that would be the one you would draw.

Benefit Cosmetics makeup artist, Deric Lim was also present to show us how to create the perfect wing tipped liner suitable for any day look.

So what are the top tips?

Top Tips!

STAMP:
"Stamp" They're Real! Push Up Liner along the lash line for greater accuracy, then connect the line.

SMUDGE:
If you need to clean or smudge any edges for a smokey look, use a cotton swab immediately following liner application for desired effect.

Loving our eye looks

So what do we think about the Benefit Cosmetics They're Real! Push Up Liner?

If you do follow me on Instagram, you would know that I tend to experiment with eyeliners quite a bit. Hence with regards to the Benefit Cosmetics They're Real! Push Up Liner, I have to put my love for the fact that it is extremely matte black. I have not seen a color payout this dark so with this aspect I have to give Benefit Cosmetics a big thumbs up.

With Benefit Cosmetics Makeup Artist Deric Lim

Application wise I do wished Benefit Cosmetics would  have allowed us to play with the product a little bit more. Seeing that this product does dry pretty quickly, it does not really give it's user the time to experiment or sometimes even correct the lines that we do.

The They're Real! Push Up Liner is also smudge-proof and waterproof, so it comes to no surprise that it is pretty difficult to remove unless you have an oil based remover. Nonetheless, to combat this, Benefit Cosmetics also provides their own They're Real Remover which comes in handy in removing this gel liner gently and smoothly.

If being easy was a crime, yes I'm guilty ;)

Overall, this is a solid liner to purchase, especially for those who have been looking for a good waterproof matte black gel liner. The smudge-proof aspect along with it's easy Accuflex wing tip applicator is a good bonus as well.

  2. Haha Mieza you would like it dear; it's so matte black! The Accuflex tip is pretty interesting as well because it makes the application for the wing tip quite easy too.
