Fun In The Sun With Kiehl's Ultra Facial Oil-Free Skincare Range

A big welcome to Kiehl's Fun in the Sun event (Photo Credits: Shopgirl)

If you have read my previous post, you would know that I had been enthusiastic on going for Kiehl's 'Fun in the Sun' event and giving a try on their latest Ultra Facial Oil-Free Skincare range.

The magic of Kiehl's knows no bounds and I personally can bear witness to it as my other half and I have been users of Kiehl's for quite some time now. I'm really not kidding when I mean that the brand does wonders for your skin.

24-Hour No-Shine Hydration? Yes please! ( Photo Credits: Shopgirl)

It has been no secret that I have been struggling with dry skin for more than a year now and I was extremely please when I found out that this range had a no-shine hydration factor. For me this was a plus point because being under the sun on a daily basis does pack in a lot of excessive oil build up and loss of moisture.

The best part about Kiehl's ( Photo Credits: Shopgirl)

Having been around since 1851, Kiehl's was actually founded as a single homeopathic pharmacy in New York City's East Village. One unique standpoint of Kiehl's was that in contrast to it's usual competitors, it was noted on its unorthodox marketing approach, exceptionally large male clientele base and it's products' simple and straightforward packaging.

The Setting

Advancing through generations with it's extensive background of pharmaceutical, herbal, medicinal and cosmetic knowledge, Kiehl's still remains at the top of the shelves for skincare, body care and hair products.

Food anyone?

Kiehl's Fun in the Sun event was held at Secret Garden One Utama and I have to say that it was the perfect setting choice. It was a little on the hot side as it was an open garden concept, but one can't argue with the gorgeous set up.

We also had a chance to create our own little cactus plant as well which I thought it was a rather fun idea to do. Yes mine is the furry little one at the bottom left corner.

Cactus Fun!

Everything that was being done at the 'Fun in the Sun' event always co-related back to the brand so the reason that Kiehl's wanted us to understand for this was why their products could accommodate both hydration and shine reduction at the same time.

Now remember when I mentioned earlier on in the post that Kiehl's high point is all about the unique blend of it's pharmaceutical, herbal, medicinal and cosmetic knowledge? This latest Ultra Facial Oil-Free range consists of a moisture-replenishing Imperata Cylindrica Root Extract and Antarcticine that actually helps skin retain moisture for a full 24 hours. So when the moisture is retained, you skin will feel more supple and balanced hence forth the reduced appearance of the no-shine factor.

So what does this have to do with our little cactus you ask? Well the Imperata Cylindrica used in the range is actually a plant that contains high potassium which lives in a dry environment in the Australian Outback . It provides extreme lasting hydrating effect so in order to symbolize this, each of us had our own little cactus to take back home with us.

So usually before I would give a review on a product I would need to fully utilize it for about a month plus. However, since I have been using it for nearly two weeks, let me share my two cents worth with you.

The newly revamped formula of Kiehls Ultra Facial Oil-Free Gel Cream (Photo Credits: Shopgirl)

Kiehl's Ultra Facial Oil- Free Cleanser (RM70 for150ml) :

This cleanser has a very thick cream texture so please keep in mind that when you use this, you would only need to dispense a small amount into your hand. It doesn't lather as quickly into the skin as I would like it but if you do use a cleansing device, it does just fine. It doesn't have a strong scent and gives off a rather refreshing and squeaky clean feeling so for those of you will oily skin, rest assured you will love this.

Kiehl's Ultra Facial Oil- Free Toner (RM70 for250ml) :

Completely fragrance free, this toner is extremely soothing to the skin and gives a rather refreshing feeling. It suits very well for all skin types and comes in quite a plastic packaging. In all honesty, I am not a big fan of the dispenser as its the typical small opening type but other than that, it does quite well.

Kiehl's Ultra Facial Oil-Free Gel Cream ( Rm100 for 50ml) :

I absolutely love this. Maybe I am a little bias because I have dry skin but hey if it works, it works right? The Gel Cream is extremely weightless upon application and I have to say that I adore it's transparent gel texture. This star product gives an all day no shine hydration and the best part is all you would need is a small amount for the entire face so this would be a fantastic buy that could last you quite some time in the long run.

Group Shot!

A big thank you to the Kiehl's and The Butterfly Project for organizing this fantastic event and I look forward to seeing more fabulous products from Kiehl's real soon.
