At the runway |
So
KLFW 2015 has come to an end but there was some exciting activities that took place during the
AirAsia Runway Designer Search Finale that changed the ballgame for
three aspiring designers. Showcasing their collection on the prestigious
KLFWRTW2015 runway,
AirAsia's 3 Most Promising Designers were revealed and as such, a couple of snaps of each couturier was fashioned.

Heading on to KLFW |
Taking charge of the panel of course were five esteem judges;
Aireen Omar, CEO of AirAsia Berhad, Andrew Tan, Founder of KLFW RTW, fashion designers Jovian Mandagie and
Khoon Hooi and the
editor of Malaysia's best-selling Malay lifestyle magazine - Eh!. Each were tougher than the next and after an intense final round of judging, the conclusion finally came to a close.
However before we press on; let's give a big round of applause to the
Top 10 for each showcase was just as amazing as the next. So much so that
one lucky finalist was also selected by
Jovian Mandagie to continue to gain real fashion experience with him and his team. Below is a handful of the notable designs that walked the runway, so take a look.
The Showcase of AirAsia Runway Designer Search Finale 2015
|
Ter Mei Ching from Esmod Kuala Lumpur |
The pairing of this design from
Ter Mei Ching is just amazingly tres chic. At just 20 years old, her combination of colors and silhouettes is just eminent. Plus seeing that the inspiration for her collection came after the
national landmark of Penang Bridge, I would say that this is simply spot on.

Andy Yeo from Malaysian Institute of Art |
|
Syamil Fazwan from UiTM Shah Alam |
|
Shazmin Hashim from UiTM Shah Alam |
The silent beauty of this subtle pattern came from
Shazmin Hashim who circled her collection around
nature destruction and deforestation issues in Asia. Using white as her main color backdrop,
Shazmin combines her range with simple artistic designs which gives her apparels a more personal touch.
|
Hazimin Norzaili from UiTM Shah Alam |
|
Lee Bao En from UCSI University |
This one was definitely the most interesting out of the entire bunch. Giving a little mystery to her collection,
Lee Bao En is not one to play safe and covers her range with the
beauty of Angkor Wat and Khmer people in Cambodia. Her fabric choices hits very close to home and her hues definitely suits her theme very well.
|
Foo Yee Ming from Malaysian Institute of Art |
|
Salina Sulzaily from Lim Kok Wing University |
So after looking through all the impressive designs; the three lucky winners;
Lee Bao En (Grand Prize), Shazmin Hashim (1st Runner Up) and Ter Mei Ching (2nd Runner Up) walked away with amazing prizes. The
Grand Prize Winner also cinched a spot to
showcase her full collection for
KL Fashion Week RTW 2016.
